Calgary’s SECOND Airport! Plane Spotting at Springbank (CYBW)Calgary/Springbank Airport, nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, is Calgary’s secondary airport, located west of the city.
It has two runways, 17/35 and 08/26, being 5,000 feet and 3,423 feet long, respectively. The majority of the airport’s traffic comes from the flight training schools based here, each with their own fleet of Cessna 172s. There’s plenty of private general aviation as well, from Piper Cherokees all the way to Cessna Citations!
