UIA expanded its fleet with the 22nd Boeing 737 aircraft

header_imgAs part of UIA’s program of fleet renewal and expansion Ukraine International Airlines received a new Boeing 737-500 aircraft to expand the carriers` fleet in March 2013.

Being UIA 22nd Boeing aircraft, the new Boeing 737-500 has passed an official registration procedure in Ukraine and received the registration number UR-GBB. The aircraft has passenger capacity of 114 seats and two cabin class layout – economy and business. March 25, 2013, the first flight en route Kiev – Vienna – Kiev was operated on the recently delivered aircraft.

“The adoption of the new airline’s strategic model of a network carrier, significant route map expansion, and adjusted flight schedules ensuring optimal two-way connections with UIA flights to the East and the West, the North and the South at Kiev Boryspil International airport, envisage UIA fleet regular renewal and expansion”, – noted Evgeniya Satska, UIA Corporate Press Secretary.

UIA operates Boeing aircraft since the airline`s foundation in 1992 and is currently the largest CEE Boeing aircraft operator. Moreover, UIA is the only Ukraine`s airline to independently perform all types of Boeing aircraft maintenance. Extensive technical capabilities allow UIA not only to perform maintenance of its own fleet, but also to render similar services to other carriers.
