COMSOFT’s Premier AMHS Solution for the Caribbean

Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (TTCAA) has contracted COMSOFT to deliver and install an Aeronautical Message Handling System (AMHS). The delivery includes a central AMHS node for Trinidad with terminals for the entering of ATC related information located at airports on the two main islands as well as on the Lesser Antilles. The centrepiece of the installation is the advanced AMHS system AIDA-NG complemented by the elaborate flight plan terminal solution CADAS. Both components provide conventional AFTN as well as Basic and Extended AMHS Services.

Apart from satellite communication lines, TTCAA will be able to connect users via internet, email and fax to AFTN and AMHS services. The customer also benefits from COMSOFT’s extensive experience of IP and network security solutions. COMSOFT’s expertise in flight data processing offers further valuable benefits to TTCAA. The contracted system is not only fully compliant to Amendment 1 of ICAO Doc 4444, it also includes the sophisticated and fully automated flight plan converter AIDA-FPL which provides seamless interoperability between NEW and PRESENT flight plan formats in time for the imminent transition to the new format in November.
The deployment of this top-selling, advanced converter will help TTCAA plan future investments regarding the upgrade of their existing ATM environment.
