WestJet launches service to the Windy City

WestJet today announced the launch of new, non-stop seasonal service to Chicago O’Hare from Vancouver and Calgary. The inaugural flights depart from Vancouver at 11:40 a.m. PDT and Calgary at 4 p.m. MDT.

These new flights are timed to connect with WestJet’s code-share partner, American Airlines, to cities such as Boston, Philadelphia and Washington. American Airlines is code-sharing on the Chicago flights; therefore, WestJet guests have the ability to earn either WestJet dollars or AAdvantage miles when booking these services.

“Chicago O’Hare is an important airline hub and business city, but it’s also a great destination as a truly cosmopolitan city featuring some of the finest art and culture,” said John MacLeod, WestJet Vice-President, Network Management and Alliances. “The launch of service to Chicago represents another step in the execution of our strategy to offer both Canadian and American business and leisure travellers greater access to key markets in both countries.”
WestJet will fly between Calgary and Chicago, and Vancouver and Chicago, once daily beginning today.
