Arik Air flights take off at Abu Dhabi International Airport

Abu Dhabi Airports Company and Arik Air announced today the launch of Arik Air flights, Nigeria’s largest international carrier, to Abu Dhabi International Airport. The new airline will start operations on Tuesday 29th November this year with 3 non-stop weekly flights connecting the UAE capital to the city of Lagos. The new route will be departing from Abu Dhabi every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:00 am, local time (LT), to arrive in Lagos at 12:15 pm, using an Airbus A340-500 with a capacity of 237 seats.  The premium cabin is equipped with full flat bed seats and an advanced inflight entertainment system with 17 inch monitors.


The new service, which will offer passengers Lagos, a new destination from Abu Dhabi International Airport, along with a variety of new travel options and connections via Lagos including Senegal, Cote D’Ivoire and Ghana.

James E. Bennett, Chief Executive Officer at Abu Dhabi Airports Company, commented: “Abu Dhabi Airports Company is delighted to welcome Arik Air as the first West African carrier to operate to Abu Dhabi International. Arik Air currently offers flights to 25 destinations in Nigeria, around Africa and across the rest of the world.  From Lagos it serves 19 cities with 229 weekly departures and from Abuja it flies 133 weekly services to 15 airports.
