FSX – Lake Placid Tower Complex. The Lake Placid Tower Complex is located in South Central Florida (FL), USA in the city of Lake Placid and was conceived as a “Observation Tower” similar to the Citrus Tower located in Clermont, FL. The tower was completed and opened in January, 1961. It was operated semi-succesfully until finally closed in 2003. This project was done as a point of interest and a navigation landmark. Departing Sebring Regional Airport (KSEF) on a 184 heading for about 10 miles will bring you over the tower.
