ILYUSHIN IL62 LANDING with OPEN REVERSERS 5 SECONDS BEFORE TOUCHDOWN + IL62 DEPARTURE (4K)This Iluyshin IL62 Freighter arrived at Liege Airport last saturday in the evening hours. This classic russian airplane arrived at the belgian airport to operate a cargo charter flight to africa the next day. The Ilyushin opened its reversers 5 seconds before touchdown which is a normal procedure of this classic airplane. I have seen about seven IL62 landings within the past 15 years and all of the opened the reversers long before touchdown but this time I was finally able to catch it on video.

In the evening hours their were some rumous the Ilyushin would depart again 2 hours after the touchdown but after seeing the crew leave the plane we knew it wouldn` t happen. It was quite hard to get some information about a departure time but luckily a Air Bridge Cargo logistics worker told us the crew of the Il62 was sitting in the restaurant of the hotel. We walked in and just asked the pilots of the Ilyushin if they could tell us a departure time. They told us they would leave in the early morning hours on sunday.
