CRAZY BOEING 747 LANDING – A B747 CLASSIC in 2020!! – Nose up after Touchdown (4K)Wow! A Boeing 747-200 in 2020. I never thought I would get the chance to film a first generation Boeing 747 in 2020. Currently there are just approximately 10 Boeing 747-200`s still flying and the shown aircraft is one of them. It was sitting in a US desert for 7 years until a company from Georgia (Air Geo Sky) bought the aircraft in december 2019. Currently the Airline operates 3 Boeing 747-200`s and one of them seems to be stored since mid 2019. I have quite a history with this airframe. I saw it for the first time at Maastricht in 2005 while flying for Air Atlanta Icelandic (TF-ARJ). After that I saw it about 10 times at Amsterdam and Frankfurt while flying for Malaysian Cargo. In 2012 shortly before its (temporary) retirment we met again at Düsseldorf Airport while it operated a charter flight to Jakarta. What a fantastic plane and fantastic to see this B747 Classic is still going strong. I filmed it last sunday at Maastricht in the netherlands. The registration of this 33 year old Aircraft is 4L-GEN.
Have a look at this crazy landing. There was no wind at all but somehow it looked like the airplane had to deal with some crosswinds. They kept the nose of the B747 in the air for a long time. It reminded me of the typical “aerodynamic breaking” which is a typical IL-76 breaking technique.
