Negus at the Orchard – BA Retro, Boeing 747s, 777, MD-11 Plane Spotting Chicago O’Hare Airport“Behold, Oh planespotter, the Negus cometh! Rise and prepare your camera! The return of the Negus is at hand!” Thus quoth Flightradar24.com app, The Accurate …(usually).

It reminds me of a scene from something mythical. But then again, I have a weird brain.
This is not a common happening, folks. We usually don’t see the British Airways’ Negus or Landor Boeing 747 special liveries here at Chicago O’Hare… I’ve heard this is because they are both a different seating configuration than BA’s BOAC Retro Livery G-BYGC that comes here quite often. This is undoubtedly a difficult time in the airline industry but one of the bright sides of this whole ongoing ordeal is that with such light passenger loads the configuration for the route barely matters anymore. And thus, British Airways sent the ORD planespotters a gift that we pounced all over. This is actually only the second time it’s come to ORD that I am aware of. I missed the first time because of something my faulty memory can’t remember what now. But that’s not important. What is important is that I finally got a decent video of G-CIVB, the BA Retro Livery “Negus” landing runway 10C.
