Lufthansa is the only Airbus A340-600 operator at Düsseldorf and last sunday the pilots had to deal with crosswinds. The Airbus arrived a few minutes after a rain shower which caused a few interesting water effects on the runway. It` s always amazing to watch this long aircraft arrive at Düsseldorf. It` s not based at Düsseldorf, Lufthansa uses this aircraft on the routing MUC-EWR-DUS-EWR-MUC.

The Airbus A340 is a long-range, four-engine, wide-body commercial passenger jet airliner developed and produced by the European aerospace company Airbus. The A340 was assembled at Toulouse, France. It seats up to 375 passengers in the standard variants and 440 in the stretched -600 series. Depending on the model, it has a range of between 6,700 to 9,000 nautical miles. Its distinguishing features are four high-bypass turbofan engines and three-bogie main landing gears.
