Vortex rain shadowsThe effects of an aircraft’s wake (and particularly the wing vortices) on the atmosphere is usually seen via the familiar trailing water vapor condensation.

In this video, apart from a small amount of condensation, the wake and vortices are made obvious almost entirely by their effect on rain falling from clouds above the plane.
