Chevy-7117-screenshoot

CFS Macro – Chevrolet G-7117 1 Ton 4×4. CFS Version of a WWII ground vehicle. The Chevrolet G-7117 was a 1½ ton 4X4 U.S. Army cargo truck that saw service in World War II and the Korean War. During WWII, this 1½-ton truck was used by the allied forces in all fronts, from Europe to Pacific. With 60,000 units delivered, the Chevrolet 1½-ton 4×4 belonged to the Lend-Lease mass deliveries to Russia, as is documented by uncounted war-time photographies showing the truck on the Eastern roads and battlefields. Having a 145in. wheelbase and the typical GMC military cab, it was produced from 1942 on, without winch as the G-7107 and with winch as G-7117 (shown here). The U.S. Army used its for all cargo duties (troop and supplies), and for Red Army preferred its use as gun towing vehicle and as troop transporter, with the upper cargo side bars converted to seats. Its chassis was even used as base for the PARM-1 Type “B” Field Repair Workshop, used for field maintenance of combat and auxiliary vehicles, manned by a crew of six and equipped with a 1-ton crane, a vice-bench, a screw-cutter-lathe, a bench-grinder, an electrical drill, a mechanical single-tone press and a generator (shown here too, with open and closed box).
