A Spectacular Morning at Skiathos Airport

A Spectacular Morning at Skiathos Airport

After a rainy night, we were delighted to enjoy one of the best mornings ever plane spotting at the Second St Maarten: with an initially wet runway, some brilliant traffic turned up for low landings, extreme jet blasts, pilots waving, and lots of more surprises!

It was a beautiful morning at the spotting point indeed. The turnups were a Blu Express/Blue Panorama Airlines Boeing 737-300 (737-3Y0) a Volotea 717-200 (717-2BL), a Transavia 737-700 (737-7K2) and a private Cessna 525C Citation CJ4. The conditions for filming were perfect, with a lot of clouds left to fill the shots with motion, as well as with the brilliant light of a bright morning. The captain of Transavia was kind enough to open his cockpit window and wave to the plane spotters, who then held his brakes with full power set, blowing a group of plane spotters away with his extreme jetblast! A nice Cessna Citation also turned up which landed with a severe amount of drift during its crosswind landing.
