Navy’s MQ-8 Fire Scout Helicopter Drone – Flight Operations

The Northrop Grumman MQ-8 Fire Scout is an unmanned autonomous helicopter developed by Northrop Grumman for use by the United States Armed Forces.

Video shows an MQ-8B Fire Scout unmanned autonomous helicopter from Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 35 Detachment 1 lifts off of the littoral combat ship USS Fort Worth. (LCS 3) for flight operations.

HSM-35 is the Navy’s first composite expeditionary helicopter squadron. The aviation detachment aboard Fort Worth consists of one MH-60R Seahawk helicopter and one MQ-8B that compliments the MH-60R by extending the range and endurance thereby enhancing maritime domain awareness.
