ST Engineering announces new key management positions

8d2f1b6aaf12f040ad6090cbd3722882Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) today announced the appointment of senior management personnel to new key management positions in the Group with a view to further strengthen its leadership team.

Mr Lee Fook Sun, currently President of Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited (ST Electronics) and President, Defence Business of ST Engineering, will assume additional responsibilities as Deputy CEO of ST Engineering. In this new position, he will explore additional synergies across the Group’s four business sectors.

Mr Vincent Chong Sy Feng, currently President of Strategic Plans & Business Development, Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd (ST Aerospace), will be appointed Deputy CEO (Corporate Development). In this new position, he will oversee the Group’s corporate functions.

Mr Lim Serh Ghee, currently Chief Operating Officer and President, Defence Business of ST Aerospace, will be appointed President ST Aerospace. The sector is currently overseen by Mr Tan Pheng Hock, President and CEO of ST Engineering.

The appointments are effective 1 December 2014.

As we chart our growth plans, it is imperative that we continue to leverage synergies across the four sectors and better integrate our corporate functions,” said Mr Tan. “I am confident that Serh Ghee will bring ST Aerospace to greater heights; and with their breadth and depth of experience, Fook Sun and Vincent will further strengthen the Group’s senior management team. I look forward to working with the senior management team to expand our businesses and grow the Group.”

Mr Lee, 58, joined ST Electronics in December 2000 as President of Defence and International Business and was appointed to his current position in August 2009. Mr Lee has contributed significantly to ST Electronics’ growth and foray into overseas markets and continued to play a pivotal role in developing the Group’s Defence Business. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Master of Arts (Engineering Science) from the University of Oxford (UK).

Mr Chong, 45, joined ST Aerospace in April 2014 after 20 years with ExxonMobil where he held various senior positions and served international postings in countries including Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, United Kingdom and USA. He holds a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering (First Class) from the National University of Singapore and attended an Advanced Leadership Programme at the Columbia Business School.

Mr Lim, 55, joined ST Aerospace in April 1984 as an engineer and rose to the position of Chief Operating Officer in June 2010. He played a critical role in charting the growth of our aerospace sector, which today is recognised as the world’s largest commercial airframe maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) service provider. Mr Lim holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Second Class Upper) from the National University of Singapore and attended a Programme for Management Development at Harvard Business School.
