FS2004 – Auster AOP9

AOP9

FS2004 – Auster AOP9 was a British military air observation aircraft (“Air Observation Post”) produced by Auster Aircraft Limited. The prototype WZ662 first flew on the 19 March 1954 followed by a production of 181 aircraft. They were in action with the RAF by 1955 and used in various theatres of operations. When the Army Air Corps was formed in 1957, Army pilots flew these aircraft whilst based in RAF squadrons. The AOP9 stayed in service until 1966 before the role was undertaken by helicopters. A number of the aircraft are still flying in the U.K. in civilian ownership. This particular model is based on XR240 (G-BDFH) in its modern configuration. B.T.W. the aircraft will fly in FSX with the usual provisos, but is primarily for FS2004 use. Modelled in Gmax by David Molyneaux.
