Wellington Extreme Landing
Wellington International Airport (formerly known as Rongotai Airport) (IATA: WLG, ICAO: NZWN), located in the suburb of Rongotai in Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand, is the third busiest airport in New Zealand (after Auckland and Christchurch) handling a total of more than 5,000,000 passengers per year
It operates a single 2,081-metre (6,827 ft) runway with ILS in both directions, capable of handling aircraft up to the Boeing 767-300 and Airbus A330-200 (although the largest aircraft to use Wellington in regular service in 2013 are the Airbus A320 and the Boeing 737-800).
Wellington has a reputation of having rough and turbulent landings, even in larger aircraft, due to the channelling effect of Cook Strait creating strong and gusty wind conditions.
In this mission/adventure for FSX you must be capable to manage a 40knt crosswind in a ILS approach to the runway 16. Visibility is very low. A typical flight situation for Wellington Airport.
You can download the free flight situation from here
One you have downloaded the flight situation put all files in your Flight Simulator X Files folder (under Document & Settings)
Start FSX and load “Wellington Extreme Landing” free flight
The plane (default 737) is already configured for the ILS approach. Intercept the ILS and land.
Good Luck!
