New Lounge in Vilnius International Airport for VIP Customer service

aviation_newsWith Lithuania taking over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in July, Vilnius International Airport (VIA) is to introduce a newly constructed VIP Lounge. The introduction of the new VIP Lounge will allow increasing the airport’s VIP customer service capacity and quality levels.

Upon the reconstruction of the former Patrol service building, the new VIP Lounge was built in a mere 4 months. An area of approximately 400 m2 houses an Aviation security check zone, customs and State Border Guard service and baggage storage facilities, as well as 3 customer lounges suitable for work and meetings, a bar and a kitchen.

“Vilnius International Airport team, in cooperation with its partners, has devoted remarkable efforts to build and to equip this VIP Lounge prior to the significant date for Lithuania – by 1 July 2013, when the country will be visited by a number of important guests. With two operating VIP Lounges at the airport we will be able to provide services to a significantly higher number of arriving and departing VIP guests”, said VIA Director General Gediminas Almantas.

The new VIP Lounge shall service more than 50, while the old VIP Lounge – up to 50 guests.

According to VIA Director General, the major advantage of the new VIP Lounge is the possibility to provide services to the Schengen area passengers and to non-Schengen area passengers at once. The new VIP Lounge service provision to customers shall commence as of 3 July.

The airport’s VIP Lounge construction project for the most part was financed through the State budget and reached the amount of 3.016 m litas. The Contractor of the construction is AB Panevėžio statybos trestas, while the project and the interior of the lounge were developed by UAB Archidelta.
