From 15th July to 16th August 2013, Monday to Friday from 8.00 hrs. to 18.00 hrs., Lufthansa employees can bring their children with them to work. A varied and professional programme will be provided.

“If it is foreseeable that our employees may have problems arranging care of their children during the school holidays, we are offering this programme for the first time and in addition to our cooperation holiday programmes. Certainly a unique opportunity for the children to get a look into the Lufthansa working world of their parents”, says Juliane Grauer who, as Manager Equal Opportunity, is organizing the programme.

“Base Camp” is a large room in the Lufthansa Aviation Center (LAC) at Frankfurt Airport. Besides games, (drumming) fun and movement for the 6 to 12-year-olds, guided tours of the Lufthansa company are also on the programme. For example, the children will take a look at an aircraft, lend a hand at the Frankfurt station and visit a computer centre. It will really be exciting when they get to know a crew, go into the kitchen or discover the grounds of the LH training centre. In total, 150 children can take advantage of the offer, in each case for one week. From a pedagogical point of view, the children will be looked after during this time by experienced carers provided by Fluggi-Land.

In principle, the Fluggi-Land in Frankfurt, supplementary to the “pme family service” at German Lufthansa locations, is the contact point of Lufthansa employees, for ad-hoc child care for short-term and short-time support of their children.
