AJW Aviation Delivers Two A340S to Azal to Complete Significant Integrated Purchase and Refit Deal

aviation_newsAJW Capital Partners Limited, part of the AJW Group of companies, purchased two new A340-500 aircraft from Airbus SAS at the end of November 2012.

These aircraft are now poised to enter commercial service with Azerbaijan Airlines after extensive repainting and cabin configuration co-ordinated by AJW’s in-house technical team.

With over 100 years of technical experience combined, the AJW technical team seamlessly managed the nose-to-tail completion procedures following the acquisition of the aircraft. This included compliance to all regulatory requirements and test flight profiles. An Approved EASA 145 and Part 21 facility were chosen to manage the cabin refit, new AZAL livery application and modifications embodiment on both aircraft.

“We successfully completed this project well ahead of the timeline specified by AZAL” explains Deepak Sharma, Technical Director at AJW Aviation. “During the maintenance phase the AJW technical team managed the entire project which included cabin and galley modification; cabin branding to AZAL’s precise specifications, IFE modification, application of AZAL new livery, airframe maintenance, various engine & airframe service bulletin embodiment, airworthiness compliance and delivery of both aircraft to Baku for upcoming entry into service. It is testimony to our stringent quality procedures and the depth of expertise within the team that Azerbaijan Airlines can bring these long-range aircraft on stream to meet their operational deadlines.”
