Iberia is hosting today the “oneworld Day” at its T4 hub in Madrid airport to brief employees of member airlines about recent innovations, products and services of other alliance members.
This “oneworld Day” is being attended by representatives of alliance members which serve Madrid: Iberia, Air Berlin, American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, Lan, Royal Jordanian, S7, as well as Qatar Airways, that has been recently elected as a member designate of the alliance.
It is the third “oneworld Day” to be held this year, after those of New York in May and Sydney in June. In December a similar event will take place at Chicago’s O’Hare airport.
The oneworld alliance now has 11 airline members with a total of 2,200 aircraft making more than 8,000 flights each day to some 800 destinations in 150 countries. Connecting flights within the alliance are easy, and passengers have access to more than 500 VIP lounges around the world. Malaysia Airlines, SriLankan Airlines and Qatar Airways are members elect of oneworld.
