airberlin focuses on Eastern Europe: Dimitar Dimitrov is Regional Manager for Bulgaria and Romania

 airberlin is stepping up its presence in the Eastern European markets and has appointed Dimitar Dimitrov (42) as the new Regional Manager for Bulgaria and Romania. Dimitrov will be based in Sofia, he will be responsible for Sales and Distribution in the two markets, and will report to the Area Manager Eastern Europe, Stefan Magiera.


“Dimitar Dimitrov has extensive experience in the Eastern European markets. We are pleased that he has joined airberlin as the Regional Manager for Bulgaria and Romania, as Eastern Europe is a key market for the airberlin group. We want to build upon our already strong position, because there is a lot of potential in these markets”, says Stefan Magiera, Area Manager Eastern Europe, airberlin.


Dimitar Dimitrov has many years of experience in the airline industry and is joining airberlin from Austrian Airlines where he has gained over ten years of experience. In his latest position as a Regional Manager he was responsible for Eastern European markets such as Bulgaria and Montenegro, in addition to Kosovo and Macedonia.

The airberlin group offers with NIKI up to three daily flights from the hub Vienna to Sofia in Bulgaria and Bucharest in Romania. There is an array of feeder flights from numerous German cities available for example from Berlin or Frankfurt.
