LOT Polish Airlines has signed a letter of intent with Monarch Aircraft Engineering Limited from the UK in which the two parties have announced the start of detailed negotiations regarding agreement on maintaining Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

LOT Polish Airlines has picked Monarch Aircraft Engineering, an independent company and a recipient of many awards, as its main provider of fuselage maintenance services for its eight Boeing 787 Dreamliners, the first of which is to be delivered in November this year.
According to the agreement, a team of highly experienced Monarch Aircraft Engineering engineers are going to establish a maintenance service base in Warsaw and will provide technical support to LOT operations.

The Dreamliners are highly advanced technologically and are the most modern aircraft in the world. That is why they require perfectly trained engineers, IT experts and up-to-date technical maintenance methods and tools. Monarch Aircraft Engineering meets all these requirements and will provide our Dreamliners with the highest quality services – says Tomasz Balcerzak, Member of the Board – Operations and Maintenance, LOT Polish Airlines.

Ian Bartholomew, Director, Sales and Marketing, Monarch Aircraft Engineering, said: Monarch Aircraft Engineering has received this very prestigious order as a result of a complex tender procedure, where it was clearly demonstrated that the company was planning on expanding its MRO activities and increasing the company’s potential by servicing a modern aircraft.

Another strength of the British firm is the fact, that it is willing to cooperate with LOT AMS company which would become its subcontractor.
