AVIANCA REACTIVATES ITS CALI-MEDELLIN-NEW YORK ROUTE

With the goal of satisfying the requirements of travelers in Cali and Medellin to and from this U.S. city, as of May 19, 2012 Avianca will resume its Cali-Medellin-New York-Medellin-Cali flights.

The route will be serviced in accordance with projected seasonal passenger demand. Flights will be operated on a regular basis during weekends in low season and during high season every day. Between June 1 and September 16, 2012, and between December 3, 2012 and January 13, 2013, there will be a daily round-trip flight on the route.

With this reactivation Avianca extends its supply of weekly Colombia-New York flights. This operation from the state capitals of Antioquia and Valle del Cauca to the world’s capital is added to the 13 weekly flights the airline already operates from Bogota to New York. The number of seats available via Avianca Colombia-New York-Colombia will now total 6,648 seats per week, an increase of 34%.
The Cali-Medellin-New York flights will be serviced by Airbus A320 aircraft (including A318, A319 and A320 planes), with individual in-flight entertainment systems and a 12-seat Business class cabin.
