SIA Engineering Secures MRO Contract for Scoot B777 Fleet

 Mainboard-listed SIA Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC) has announced the signing of an Aircraft Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Services Agreement with the new low-cost carrier Scoot. 


The MRO Agreement covers heavy and light airframe maintenance checks, line maintenance and defect rectification. It is a two year Agreement with an option of a one-year extension. Scoot, wholly-owned by Singapore Airlines, will be operating the Boeing 777-200ER for its medium and long-haul sectors. 


Mr William Tan, Chief Executive Officer of SIAEC, said: “We are delighted to be selected by Scoot to maintain its B777 aircraft. The experience gained from supporting SIA’s B777 fleet – one of the largest in the world – has positioned SIAEC in a competitive position to serve Scoot and other B777 operators worldwide. We bring to customers our technical expertise in the B777, built over 15 years, as well as the benefits of economies of scale from maintaining a large B777 fleet.”

Mr Campbell Wilson, Chief Executive Officer of Scoot, said: “We are very pleased to enter into this arrangement with SIAEC. Aircraft reliability and safety are of paramount importance to us and, with SIAEC’s experience and high standards, we know that the maintenance of Scoot’s aircraft is in good hands.”
