CPH Go records easyJet passenger number one million

On Monday, 28 November, passenger number one million travelled through CPH Go, Copenhagen Airport’s one-year old low-cost pier. The event was celebrated with travel and gift vouchers to the lucky passenger.

Exactly 13 months after CPH Go was opened, passenger number one million travelled through Copenhagen Airport’s new low-cost pier.

The lucky easyJet passenger was Pia Lindehammer of Copenhagen who arrived on the morning flight from Berlin where she had celebrated her birthday with a friend.

She received two easyJet tickets to Lisbon and a gift voucher for Copenhagen Airport’s duty and tax-free shops as visible proof that she was passenger number one million.

“The fact that it has taken only 13 months to top the first million passengers at CPH Go demonstrates that it was the right decision for Copenhagen Airport to build a dedicated low-cost facility.

In the period before the opening of CPH Go as well as during the past year, easyJet has been growing steadily by adding more destinations as well as additional frequencies to existing destinations, and we are working with them to exploit the future growth potential at Copenhagen,” said Carsten Nørland, VP, Sales and Marketing for Copenhagen Airports.

The most important airport in the Nordic Region
“easyJet focuses on efficiency, which allows us to offer passengers low fares to exciting destinations. CPH Go is a good match for easyJet, which is reflected in the achievement of one million passengers in just over one year.

Today, Copenhagen Airport is the most important airport in the Nordic Region, and we are heading towards additional growth, the best proof of this being our new route to Portugal,” said Thomas Haagensen, General Regional Manager for easyJet in Northern Europe.

easyJet currently serves eight destinations out of CPH Go, and will add number nine on 19 April 2012 when the new service to Lisbon will be opened. The eight current destinations are: London (Gatwick and Stansted), Manchester, Berlin, Milan, Geneva, Basel and Paris.
