Greg Mays Joins Alaska Airlines as Managing Director of Airframe, Engine and Component MRO

“I’m pleased to welcome Greg to our maintenance and engineering team here at Alaska Airlines,” said Fred Mohr, vice president of maintenance and engineering. “He comes with proven skills of leading, growing and championing continuous improvement initiatives within complex business operations.” 

Mays began his aviation career at Boeing Co. as a senior engineer working on NASA-related programs, including the space station. He later moved to Delta Air Lines and held several positions of increasing responsibility in maintenance, including manager of enterprise planning, general manager of engine maintenance operations, director of below-wing operations and, most recently, managing director of global cargo operations. 

Mays earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama and an MBA from Emory University. At Alaska Airlines he replaces Yvonne Daverin, who recently became vice president of maintenance and engineering for Alaska Air Group sister carrier, Horizon Air.
