JetBlue Kicks Off Beachy Keen Week-Long Celebration as it Adds Four New Flights to the Caribbean and Latin America
JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq: JBLU) is bringing customers closer to warm sunshine, soft sands and lapping waves this holiday season as it prepares to launch a plethora of new service and new destinations this week throughout the Caribbean and Latin America, including:
Tues., Nov. 15: Westchester County Airport’s (HPN) only international service begins on JetBlue’s new daily nonstop flight to Nassau, Bahamas (NAS).
Wed., Nov. 16: Twice weekly nonstop service from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to La Romana International Airport (LRM), a brand new destination for the airline and the fifth served in the Dominican Republic.
Thurs., Nov. 17: Nonstop flights from San Juan’s Luis Munoz Marin Airport (SJU) in Puerto Rico to St. Maarten begin, marking the eighth nonstop destination served from San Juan.
Thurs., Nov. 17: Nonstop flights launch from JFK to Liberia’s brand new Daniel Oduber Quiros Airport (LIR), in the lush Guanacaste region of Costa Rica and the 68th city in JetBlue’s route network.
As it continues Caribbean growth, on Dec. 12 JetBlue will also add new service from San Juan to both St. Thomas and St. Croix, in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Boston will receive nonstop service to St. Thomas later that week, on Dec. 15, 2011. JetBlue will close the year with a total of 70 destinations across its route network.

To kick off the week-long celebration, today through Saturday, Nov. 19 JetBlue Getaways will be giving away five four-day, three-night vacation package for two including roundtrip airfare and hotel accommodations each day, for a total of 25 Getaways vacation packages, to Nassau, La Romana, Liberia, St. Croix and St. Thomas respectively.
Customers can enter once per day at www.jetblue.com/instantwin to receive a virtual scratch off card for their chance to win. Everyone who enters to win will also receive a $50 discount code off a future JetBlue Getaways vacation package.
What’s more, New York’s Hometown Airline is inviting travelers to ‘Catch a Waive’ on JetBlue’s standard $100 surfboard fee (a) when they travel between Nov. 17 and Dec. 17, 2011 to any destination surfboards are accepted in the airline’s network. JetBlue connects surfers with plenty of great destinations for catching waves including Barbados, California (Long Beach, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco and Oakland), Costa Rica (Liberia and San Jose), the Dominican Republic (Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, Puerto Plata), Florida (Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville and West Palm Beach), New York (Rockaways, Long Beach) and Puerto Rico (Aguadilla and San Juan).
All customers traveling through JetBlue’s Terminal 5 at JFK this week will have the opportunity to take a photo in one of two tropical beach scenes, which can be easily uploaded to Facebook to share with friends and family. The scenes will be on-site to promote La Romana and Liberia, the airline’s 67th and 68th new destinations.
JetBlue is the largest carrier in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, and continues to focus its growth in the Caribbean and Latin America, adding new flights and destinations annually to the sunny, tropical places customers want to go for vacation or to visit friends and family. In December, JetBlue will launch nonstop service to the U.S. Virgin Islands, serving Boston to St. Thomas five times weekly and San Juan daily to both St. Thomas and St. Croix.
