Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air has appointed “Let’s Go Travel” as its Passenger Sales Agent to its recently announced non-stop service between Bahrain and Entebbe which will commence on 5 December 2011.
The travel agency has been selected to promote tourism, leisure travel and corporate traffic from Entebbe across Gulf Air’s network via its efficient Bahrain hub.
Mr. Karim Makhlouf, Chief Commercial Officer of Gulf Air said “We are delighted to appoint ‘Let’s Go Travel’ as our sales agent for Uganda, who are well-known in the Ugandan market with their very broad network of customers. We hope through this partnership, we will be able to serve the Ugandan market and drive leisure and business travels through to onward destinations on our network particularly in the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, Europe and the Far East.”
“We believe that with re-launching our Entebbe route, we will serve the growing demand between both countries for trade and tourism” Mr. Makhlouf concluded.
“With the special introductory rates Gulf Air is offering, we are looking at entering the market with a position of strength,” said Mrs. Joan Kantu Else, the Managing Director of ‘Let’s Go Travel’. “There are unique selling points with Gulf Air that the Ugandan market will be interested in besides its excellent connectivity to the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, Europe and the Far East. We look forward to serving both the Ugandan market and Bahrain market through Gulf Air.”
Gulf Air’s Uganda route is the fifth destination on the African continent and will fly four times a week to Bahrain operating an Airbus A320 in a two-class configuration of 16 seats in Falcon Gold and 120 in Economy with the capacity to carry four tons of freight. The airline is set to provide the Uganda market with the first professionally trained sky nannies both on the ground and in the air due to the challenges posed when travelling with children.
Special introductory fares from Uganda start at: USD $200 to the GCC and Indian Sub-continent, USD $350 to the Middle East, Asia and Europe with a generous baggage allowance of 40kg.
Gulf Air will further launch direct flights to Juba, South Sudan from 7th February 2012 bringing to three the destinations within East Africa and 55 globally.
