FSX Samso Airport VFR Photo Scenery (EKSS). The isle of Samso (Samsoe) is situated not far from Arhus, Denmark’s second largest city. The history of Samsoe is very interesting. In ancient times the beautiful Stavns Fjord in the vicinity of the airport harbored one of the largest fleet of the Vikings, and traces of the great community still remain. The airport may be small, but as on all other isles, it is large in importance, and it will be hard to find a more beautiful located. For many years a daily route was operated from EKKL-Kalundborg where the plane brought in the post and newspapers. Today most traffic is charter flights to Copenhagen, Arhus and Odense, round trips with tourists, and cargo flights with supplies of important spare parts for the different facilities and activities on the isle.
