– FS2004 Hawaii Next Generation SRTM Mesh


FS2004 Hawaii “New Generation” SRTM Terrain Mesh (HI). The reason this is called the “New Generation” SRTM mesh is mainly because all faults and voids have been fully removed and as a result what you used to see as very steep cliffs, valleys, etc. and in many cases even what appeared to be hills or mountains where in fact nothing more than “shadows” (faults/voids) in the original data. This new generation SRTM mesh detected and repaired over 75,000 faults/voids just for Hawaii alone. The data used for this new generation of SRTM mesh is sourced from three different types of SRTM data and not just one as has always been used in the past.
