Unboxing Antonov An-225 Mriya | Herpa 1:400 Scale Model Review | World’s Largest Cargo AirplaneEver since childhood I have been both an avgeek and also an avid model airplane / toy airplane collector. That enjoyment of model airplanes has stayed with me into adulthood and probably will now be with me for life as is so often the case for those of us that enjoy airplanes and model airplanes. I may not always be actively adding to the collection, but I’m always looking for the next addition even if purchases come years apart. I enjoy airliners primarily but I’ve been known to add a few other miscellaneous pieces to the collection as opportunity allows. Usually, for diecast or metal models, I like the 1:400 scale since it allows me to collect more and they aren’t as expensive as the larger 1:200 scale airplane models although I do have a few of the larger ones.

I’ve been wanting a good quality 1:400 scale of the Antonov An-225 for some time now and its recent return to the skies and even more recent visit to Anchorage and Montreal Mirabel inspired me to step up my search for one of these. I had some great fun especially those days 4/30 – 5/2 flighttracking the AN-225’s two trips through ANC and being able to see it arrive and depart on the Anchorage/Lake Hood Webcam. If I could’ve made it up there to see it in person I would’ve and what a video it would’ve been since it twice landed and took off right in front of one of my all time
favorite planespotting locations!!
