SKIATHOS 2018 – WAVING PILOTS, LOW LANDINGS and JETBLASTS – Boeing 757, Airbus A321Welcome to Skiathos Airport, or as I call it “the european St. Martin”. Skiathos has one of the craziest airports in europe. Airplanes fly extremly low above the street and pass a beach shortly before touching down on the runway. The traffic isn` t as interesting as it is in St. Martin cause Maho Beach can offer a few more heavy planes like the Airbus A340. Anyway, Skiathos is quite awesome and it` s always a pleasure to return to this beautiful island.

Usually all pilots who land at Skiathos are in a good mood and some of them wave to the people who await the crazy departure behind the runway. Shoutout to the friendly Scandinavian Airlines pilot.

The biggest airplane which is allowed to land at this airport is a Boeing 757 which is also visible within the first seconds of this video.
