Huge Close-up Wildfire near Split Airport LDSP/SPUOn the second of July, a wildfire engulfed Split airport in smoke which caused a number of delayed landings and takeoffs. The weather was of no help due to high winds and lightning strikes, and rain which wasn’t falling on the wildfire at first. The firefighters were on the scene shortly after the start of the fire but it went out of control due to high winds which caused material damage on some houses. There were also 4 Canadair CL-415s of the Croatian Air Force fighting the fires.
