Toronto Pearson Int’l 2016 Airside Tour July 20, 2016

Toronto Pearson Int’l 2016 Airside Tour July 20, 2016Hello everyone! Welcome to the Toronto Pearson Int’l 2016 Airside Tour on July 20, 2016. This was the date for my airside tour this year and the second airside tour in Toronto that I have gone on. This time, we decided to go on a Wednesday because we had a shot of seeing the Emirates Airbus A380-800 and we had chances to see the European heavies here and a possibility to get them depart. And boy did this tour sure work out good.

The tour starts with us putting on our airside vests. Not featured in this video was the K-9 Unit display which came right after. After that, we entered and went in on through security and then went to the South Firehall which had RED5, RED1 and ENGINE11 which was just coming back from a call. While looking at the fire trucks and the fire fighters giving detailed information on their jobs, we did some plane spotting too and caught a Lufthansa Airbus A330-300 landing RWY 24L and the WestJet Walt Disney Mickey Mouse Livery Boeing 737-800/Scimitars land and then TAM Boeing 767-300ER/Winglets depart off of RWY 24R. We then got on the bus to go near the old Terminal 2 area where they had a special surprise for us, we got to view the Air Canada Airbus A330-300 and the Lufthansa Boeing 747-400 up close. We then viewed the Air Canada Boeing 777-300ER, Oneworld British Airways Boeing 747-400 and Air France Boeing 777-300ER take-off’s from close range. After that, we headed around towards the de-icing area. Over there we caught an Air Canada Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner taxiing on its way back. This was only possible because I answered a trivia question that the tour guide put up for which was- “What RWY is this the localizer for.” Since we were at RWY 33L, the answer was the opposite for RWY 15R and I answered it in a heart beat so we got to see the aircraft taxi close by, but I’m pretty sure he would have done it anyways. After that, we headed to the Cargo West where there were two Air Transat aircraft, an Airbus A310-300 and Airbus A330-300 and an Air Canada Boeing 777-300ER and then after that we headed back on Hotel to RWY 15L back through to de-icing where we went between a LOT Polish Airlines Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner and an Air Canada Boeing 767-300ER. We finished off the end of the tour just 5 min behind schedule which was perfectly fine with me.

All in all it was a great tour! The only negative on the tour was that we weren’t allowed to go close-up to the Airbus A380-800 but nevertheless, we should be thankful for what we did get to do. Big thanks to Eventbirte and Toronto Pearson Int’l for hosting these airside tours, it was definitely amazing and I will be back next year as well! Enjoy the video everyone!
