Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 Hornet Take-off
RARE: Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 Hornet Take-off RWY 06L @ Toronto Pearson Int’l March 20, 2016Hello everyone! Here is some military action coming your way! Yesterday I had a friend of mine text me that a RCAF CF-18 Hornet was at Sky Service. My first reaction was “The hell are you talking about” haha and then I checked Toronto Pearson Aviation where they told us that RCAF CF-18 Hornet COUGAR 15 landed RWY 05 and is parked at Sky Service. A few heard it and a few saw it land as well. Gut instinct told me he was departing the next day morning and it happened. Big thanks to a friend of mine at Sky Service who alerted us of an 1130hrs local departure time and stated it was heading back home, meaning back to Cold Lake, Alberta since he belonged to 410 Tactical Fighter Operational Training Squadron. We guessed RWY 05 but when he filed he indicated he was going to Winnipeg Int’l and Clearance gave him a RWY 06L departure and he took it. So we went to the Garage at RWY 24R and caught him taking off from there. Lucky that we did since he made a left bank after the rotate and was cleared to climb to 23,000 feet off of departure. Awesome Hornet power! So good to have finally caught a Hornet when it isn’t Airshow season. Happens in Toronto about 1-5 times a year. Enjoy the video everyone and I’ll catch you in the next one!
