Thomas Cook A321 GO AROUND at Skiathos! Aborted Low Landing w/ Tailwind + Head-on LandingWhether you call it a go around or an aborted landing, it was spectacular. It was the first one I had ever seen at Skiathos and I was really not prepared for it. The pilots came in to land on 02 with the wind being calm, and as they were on short final it shifted to 200 degrees at 4 knots. Keep in mind that they were landing in exactly the opposite direction. While the aircraft was flaring, we noticed the nose suddenly come up as the engines started to scream running on TOGA: it was a go around indeed! What followed was a teardrop turn to land on runway 20 and a nice backtrack and taxi right in front of us.
