FSX – Douglas C-47 The Berlin Train. The Berlin blockade 24 June 1948 – 12 May 1949. This aircraft flew much needed supplies to West Berliners every 3 minutes for 11 months. 31 Americans lost their lives during the Berlin Airlift, paying the ultimate price for the freedom of others. Let that not be forgotten. The Airlift Memorial at Rhein Main Air Base, Frankfurt, and on Luftbruckenplatz at Tempelhof Airport in Berlin. Note: The graphics used in my repaint are mine, taken from the original aircraft in Berlin.
