A 33 minute flight evaluation of the Curtiss-Wright X-100 VTOL aircraft conducted in August 1960. Pioneering NASA Langley test pilot John P. “Jack” Reeder died in 1999, leaving an aviation legacy that spanned a half- century. Mr. Reeder’s extensive career with NASA and the agency’s predecessor, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics began in 1938 and ended in 1980.
