X-Plane 9 – BAC TSR2. The British Aircraft Corporation TSR-2 was a cancelled Cold War strike and reconnaissance aircraft developed by the British Aircraft Corporation (BAC) for the Royal Air Force (RAF) in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Some of the most advanced aviation technology of the period was incorporated in order to make it the highest-performing aircraft in the world in its projected missions. In a move that was considered ill advised, the Labor government of England made the decision to terminate the TSR2 project in favor of adopting the U.S. made FB-111. This move so demoralized the British aircraft industry that several years would pass before it fully recovered. By Ron Norvelle.
