X-Plane 10.20 – Grumman G44A Super Widgeon 1.1. The Grumman Widgeon was originally intended for the civilian market, but World War II interrupted that plan. The US Navy, the Army Air Force and the US Coast Guard found uses for this little amphibian. It worked through the war years as a patrol and utility aircraft. The “Super” Widgeon is a conversion product of McKennon Enterprises. Some 70 aircraft were re-powered with Lycoming GO-480-B1D flat six cylinder engines of 270 hp and were upgraded with modern electronics and equipment. By Ron Norvelle.
