Catalina Landing with my mom

This is our Catalina landing on runway 22. Catalina Airport has an altitude of 1,602 feet. It is known to have downdrafts and turbulence on approach.

The runway drops off on both sides. The runway is also rough with potholes and soft spots caused by heavy rains. Catalina Airport is named one of the ten scariest airports in the U.S. As the flight progressed my mom warmed up a bit and told me she wasn’t as afraid anymore!!! I’m glad I could give her a good experience and open up her mind to flight- I mean, I DID fly her to an island! Upon arrival, we ate some awesome Buffalo burgers
