FSX – Erbil International Airport

FSX – Erbil International Airport (ORER), Iraq. The airport was originally known as Z16J, Erbil Northwest, a military airbase. In March 2010 opened the new civil airport Erbil International Airport, ICAO Code ORER, IATA Code EBL. The airport is situated 4.35 miles (7 kilometers) northwest of Erbil city directly beside the old airport, using and rebuilding the out-of-use runway 18/36 which is with a length of 13,890 feet (4800 meters) and a width of 225 feet (75 meters); the world’s largest runway. The previous runway in use, runway 15/33, has been closed. The new airport is fully equipped with VOR, NDB and ILS. Runway 18 is even equipped for ILS CAT II operations.
