Moscow Domodedovo Airport: results for May and the first five months 2013

aviation_newsAccording to Domodedovo Airport results for May 2013, passenger traffic increased by 13.6% compared to May 2012 and amounted to 2.57 million travelers. The overall flights number for April 2013 grew by 4.2% and totaled 22.1 thousand takeoff and landing operations.

The largest passenger traffic growth recorded in international passenger traffic (DAL) adding + 17.2% to May 2012; reaching 1.6 million passengers.

Domestic airlines for May 2013 grew by 8.2% compared to last year and amounted to 976 thousand travelers. Domodedovo freight traffic for the last spring month reached 16.6 thousand ton that is 2.1% higher compared to May 2012.

According to the January-May 2013 results, Domodedovo passenger traffic amounted to 10.9 million people. Passenger traffic increased (+13.6%) compared with the same period in 2012. Flights number grew by 4.9% and amounted to 98 thousand takeoff and landing operations.

January-May 2013 passenger traffic results on domestic routes totaled 4.48 million passengers that 15% higher than for five months of the last year. The utmost growth recorded on the following internal directions: Makhachkala, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Mineralnye Vody, Sochi. Passenger traffic on these directions reached 1.08 million people, that 31.2% higher than for five months of the last year.

International passenger traffic for January-May of the current year totaled 6.42 million people. (+ 12,7% to January-May 2012). The highest growth was recorded on the following international routes: Hurghada, Sharm-el-Sheikh, Antalya, Munich, Yerevan. In January-May 2013 1.3 million passengers were transported for the mentioned directions, that by +47.1% higher compared to 2012.

Domodedovo airport freight traffic for January-May 2013 increased by 4.4% compared to the same period of 2012 year and totaled 76.2 thousand ton.
