HKIA: New Designation of Prohibited and Restricted Zones on Airport Island Roads

In light of the recent developments of new roads and operational needs at the Hong Kong International Airport, the prohibited and restricted zones of the roads on the airport island have been updated with effect from 15 May 2013. Airport road users please take note of the new designation.

The relevant legislative amendments, made under the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) (Designation of Prohibited and Restricted Zones) (Amendment) Notice 2013, was gazetted on 22 March 2013 and tabled at the Legislative Council on 27 March 2013.

The updated prohibited zones include bus terminus at Ground Transportation Centre, bus stop loop on Catering Road East, Coach and Limousine Staging Area, access road to CLP Power Hong Kong Ltd. Sky City Road Substation and all designated roads in Chek Lap Kok.

The updated restricted zones include Cheong Hong Road, Chun Wan Road North, Sky Plaza Road Central, East Coast Road, Tung Fai Road, Chek Lap Kok South Road and South Perimeter Road, access roads to Coach Station and Airport Authority Staff Car Park egress.
