Auckland Airport congratulates Jetstar for reaching outstanding milestone

Jetstar’s dedication to low-cost fares has proved an outstanding success, with the airline announcing that they have carried five million passengers since launching their domestic operation in New Zealand in 2009.

Glenn Wedlock, Auckland Airport General Manager Aeronautical Commercial, says, “This is an extremely impressive result for Jetstar and proves that Jetstar’s commitment to keeping fares affordable has been very popular in New Zealand.

The fact that Jetstar has sold nearly one million seats for $50 or less indicates the high volume of low-cost fares they have available.”

Auckland is Jetstar’s busiest destination with over 2.1million domestic passengers flying in and out with the airline since their domestic services began in June 2009.

“We would like to congratulate Jetstar on obtaining this remarkable result and are excited to continue working closely with them as we aim for further milestones in the future,” finishes Mr Wedlock
