11% growth at Chopin Airport in March

hqdefaultChopin Airport has had its best March on record, with more than 770,000 passengers handled, a 10.7% increase year-on-year.

The high passenger numbers have been driven by a decision of the two largest low-cost airlines, Ryanair and Wizz Air, to have transferred their flights back to Chopin Airport. The former carried over 102,000 passengers at Chopin Airport in March 2013 and the latter – nearly 80,000.

Chopin Airport has served 2.1 million passengers since the beginning of 2013, 11.6% more than in the corresponding period of 2012, including 1.8 million travellers on international flights (+14.6%) and 250,000 domestically (-6.4%).

The number of aircraft movements rose by 4.1% in the first three months of 2013, reaching 28,500.
