a U.S. Air Force E-3 Sentry (AWACS) from the 964th Expeditionary Airborne Air Control Squadron lands and taxis to a parking spot after landing at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia , Dec. 2, 2010. Airmen from the 380th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron then tow the E-3 to its final parking stop for maintenance.

The E-3 provides situational awareness of friendly, neutral and hostile activity, command and control of an area of responsibility, battle management of theater forces, all altitude and all weather surveillance of the battle space, and early warning of enemy actions during joint, allied and coalition operations.
