Austro Control gets COMSOFT ARTAS upgrade
procurement, delivery and installation of the latest version of the marketleading
ATM Surveillance, Tracker and Server, ‘ARTAS’
EUROCONTROL’s ARTAS is one of the most advanced and mature surveillance
data processing and distribution systems in the world, currently used by 34
European civil and military air navigation service providers (ANSPs), making it
the most widely used in Europe. The state-of-the-art-system uses all available
sensor input data to provide an accurate and up-to-date air situation picture to
air traffic controllers. COMSOFT has been the first industrial partner for
EUROCONTROL’s Centralised ARTAS Maintenance and Support (CAMOS) since
2001.
Since then, COMSOFT has provided regular updates of ARTAS with
improvements and enhancements to meet the growing demands of its users.
The contract for Austro Control covered the complete procurement, delivery,
installation, as well as testing, training and support for the latest version V8B,
offering greater maintainability, reliability, as well as other performance
enhancements and improved cost effectiveness.
The Site Acceptance Test (SAT), which is normally the final stage before
handover, was successfully completed in September 2011, and was followed by
training of Austro Control staff in the new system. Robert Guttman from Austro
Control Engineering Services commented on the rapid and comprehensive
delivery by COMSOFT within the agreed timeframe: “We are very grateful for
the outstanding support that we received during the project ramp up. It is
largely thanks to the excellent and dedicated project management skills of
COMSOFT that we were able to complete the project within the agreed
operational timeframe.”
