May 2012 Passenger & Air Cargo traffic at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

Passenger Activity:  Total passenger traffic for May 2012 was 829,642, up 1.5% compared to May 2011.  May 2012 enplanements totaled 419,832, up 1.5%.  Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 306,222, up 5% compared to May 2011; American Airlines passengers totaled 178,388, up 10%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 98,443, up 9.5%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 70,875,down 29%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, ExpressJet, GoJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 63,352, up 20%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 56,000, up 18%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 30,113, down 10%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 15,327, down 25%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 10,223, down 18%. 

May 2012 air cargo totaled 13,191,416 lbs., up 10.5% compared to May 2011.  International air cargo totaled 834,099, down 22.5%.  Federal Express carried 8.5 million lbs., up 8%; and United Parcel Service carried 2.8 million lbs., up 20.5%.

Air Services transferred 286,215 lbs. of mail, down 9%; and 1,078,541 lbs. of belly freight, up 16.5%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 4,641, down 13%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 14,749, down 5%.

 

January – May 2012 Year to Date

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – May YTD was 3,746,408 up 4% compared to January – May 2011.  January – May 2012 enplanements totaled 1,876,174, up 4%.  Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 1,408,366 up 5.5%; American Airlines passengers totaled 762,672, up 5%; Delta Air Lines passengers 449,528, up 11%; Continental Airlines (including SkyWest, Express Jet) passengers totaled 333,305, down 9%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, ExpressJet, GoJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 286,076, up 24%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 234,110, up 15.5%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 143,057, down 5%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 79,452, down 11%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 47,807, down 45.5%.

May YTD (January – May 2012) air cargo totaled 63,291,153 lbs., up 1.5% compared to January-May 2011. International air cargo totaled 3,718,539 lbs., down 5.5%. Federal Express carried 42 million lbs., down 0.2%; and United Parcel Service carried 12.9 million lbs., up 26.5%.

Air Services transferred 1,179,215 lbs. of mail, down 45.5%; and 4.6 million lbs. of belly freight, down 7%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 21,522 for January – May YTD, down 15%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 70,129, down 7%.
